The Z10-BodyFit Segmented Sleep System is a ground-breaking new bed from SD Laboratories (a new medical-division of popular Australian bed company Sleeping Duck). Developed by a team of medical professionals, led by Neurosurgeon Professor Tony Goldschlager; the Z10-Bodyfit has been designed to get rid of the guesswork when choosing a mattress, providing a customisable fit prescribed by a health professional, so you can be confident you’ve got the right support across your whole body. This new system, allows you and your physiotherapist to have precise control over the alignment of every part of your body, ensuring you are supported in your own unique, natural standing posture.
The Z10-BodyFit Segmented Sleep System:
The Z10-BodyFit Segmented Sleep System is made up of three key components:
Zoned Customisable Mattress:
- High-quality Sleeping Duck mattress built for durability and comfort
- Segmented foam support layer that contains 10 zones – each of which can be prescribed in 10 different degrees of firmness
- Sleeping Duck AntiGravity Pressure Relief Layer
- Supported by durable steel spring base
Sleeping Duck Indestruct Bed Base:
- Full steel chassis with extra steel support beams underneath each sleeper
- Solid timber support panels utilising air-holes for breathability without compromising uniform support
- Life-time sag-proof guarantee provides a consistent reference surface for your prescription, ensuring consistency from clinic-to-home but also lasting support and consistency
Customisable Head and Neck Pillow:
- Fitted as part of your bed prescription, to interact with the firmness of your new mattress to ensure appropriately relaxed and aligned head and neck

The Z10-BodyFit comes in King, Queen or King-Single, with both King and Queen allowing for different set-ups on each side – meaning for couples, either just one or both partners can be fit for their own unique prescription. The bed-base comes with designer finishes that comes in many different styles and pallets, allowing you to choose the aesthetic that fits your space – comfort and quality doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice looks!
How the Bed Fitting Process Works:
The Z10-BodyFit is a prescription only system, meaning it’s only available following a dedicated fitting session with a trained physiotherapist. Luckily three of our physios here in Manning are trained in fitting the Z10 BodyFit, and we have a demo bed and fitting system set-up in the clinic.
Here’s how it works:
- Attend a Bed Fitting: Call the clinic at 08 9450 4433 to book a dedicated Bed Fitting appointment with one of our qualified physios. The appointment is 1 hour long, and includes a thorough assessment so your physio can understand your body and your individual needs. You’ll then have at least 30minutes to lay down on the bed, whilst your physio develops your unique prescription using a combination of their expertise and your real-time feedback.
- Submit your prescription: At the end of your session, you’ll have a unique prescription detailing the firmness of each of the 10 zones and the set-up of the pillow. If you’re happy and ready to go ahead, your physio can send this prescription directly to SD Laboratories for you, or you can take it away with you and submit it at a later date when you’re ready
- Choose your styles and organise delivery: Within a few days of receiving your prescription, you’ll be contacted directly by SD Laboratories to organise the purchase and delivery of your new bed. This is when you’ll choose the style of your bed-base and they’ll be able to provide you with more details about all the options and price variations. Once you’re happy they’ll organise a date and time for the delivery team to come out to your house and set-up the bed. Delivery and set-up is included in the price of the system!
- 100 Night Trial Period: Once your new bed is set-up, it’s time to sleep on it! Your physio will contact you around the two-week mark to see how your new bed is going. If you feel any adjustments are required, you can discuss this with your physio who will then organise it for you by contacting SD Laboratories. The replacement foam pads required to modify your prescription will then be delivered to you free of charge. During the 100 night trial period, you can make as many adjustments as needed with no cost involved. At the end of the 100 nights if you’ve still not found the new sleep system to be effective for you, you can return it for a full refund, so it really is a low-risk way to try a personalised solution.
Long-Term Benefits of a Prescribed Mattress
The beauty of the Z10-Bodyfit design is that the segmented foam support pads remain adjustable into the future. Meaning as your body changes over time, your mattress can be adjusted to meet your new needs, without needing a whole new mattress. Small adjustments or a whole new prescription to accommodate a changing body or a new injury, can be organised by contacting your physio just as is done during the trial period. The only difference is that after the 100 night trial period, a small cost will be involved to cover the replacement pads and delivery, but you could save thousands on the cost of a whole new mattress!
